Community & Public Assistance Programs

Veterans Crisis Assistance Initiative

Through our Veterans Crisis Assistance Initiative, the Association provides short-term, crisis-focused assistance to eligible veterans and their immediate families who are experiencing urgent hardships. Support may include housing stabilization, utility assistance, transportation for medical or court-related needs, personal safety services, and other emergency interventions. This program is designed to bridge gaps during moments of crisis while coordinating with appropriate County Veterans Affairs offices.

Community Crisis & Family Assistance

The Association has a longstanding history of stepping in to help families facing unexpected hardship. In certain circumstances, we have provided direct financial or material assistance to families affected by serious medical conditions, domestic violence, displacement, or other emergency situations. Our goal is to offer timely relief that helps stabilize families and restore dignity during difficult moments.

Shop with a Constable

One of our most meaningful outreach efforts, Shop with a Constable, helps families in need during the holiday season by providing children with gifts and necessities. This program not only eases financial stress for families but also builds positive relationships between law enforcement and the community—creating moments of hope, trust, and connection.

Scholarship Initiative

The Monroe County Constable’s Association is proud to support the next generation of public servants. Through our scholarship initiative, we provide financial assistance to individuals in the community who are pursuing careers in law enforcement or public safety. These scholarships are an investment in the future of public service and community protection.

Supporting Law Enforcement Officers

In addition to our public charitable work, the Association is dedicated to supporting Constables and Deputy Constables who serve our communities every day.

Unlike many law enforcement agencies, Pennsylvania Constables are not publicly funded with taxpayer dollars. Constables are required to personally cover the cost of their offices liability insurances, uniforms, essential training & certifications, professional development, and lifesaving equipment—including first aid kits, ballistic vests, radios, and other safety tools.

The high cost of these necessities has left some Constables unable to afford critical equipment, forcing them to operate without tools that could save their lives or the lives of others. Our Association works to offset these costs by:

• Funding training and professional development opportunities
  
  

• Assisting with the purchase of safety and medical equipment
  
  

• Supporting officer wellness and preparedness
  
  

By helping ensure Constables are properly equipped and trained, we enhance public safety for everyone.

The Monroe County Constable’s Association is committed to responsible stewardship of all donations and grant funds. All assistance and program initiatives are administered in accordance with Association policies, oversight procedures, and applicable grant requirements. Records are maintained for accountability, and funds are used solely to advance the Association’s charitable, community, and public safety mission.
